The aim is to strengthen innovation capacity and competitiveness in Norwegian business and the public sector through need-driven, long-term research. This is done by developing new methods, tools and approaches for how complex systems are designed, built and learned about in practice.
What we are going to solve
SFI CELECT will give a boost to productivity and innovation both for industry and public-sector actors.
We research methods that enable Norwegian companies to
- get more out of resources
- reduce the time from idea to product
- work smarter in complex projects that require involvement from many disciplines
- use artificial intelligence in a safe, effective and responsible way
What we want to achieve
SFI CELECT will be a pioneer in system innovation. The centre will facilitate new ways of using artificial intelligence and help industry and public-sector actors to handle complex tasks that do not have a definitive answer.
How we do it
- close collaboration with industry and the public sector
- research based on real needs
- education of the next generation of systems engineers and leaders
- We will educate at least 120 master's students and 30 doctoral candidates, all of whom will gain specialist expertise in artificial intelligence and complex systems.
